In cooperation with MedUni Vienna, the start-up edupression has developed an innovative online platform and app that offers help in the fight against depression. All content is evidence-based, and the concept is built on the principle of psychoeducation – the self-help programme supports people with depression in the treatment and prevention of their illness and conveys knowledge about their own condition. The low-threshold online offering was developed by a multidisciplinary team of doctors and psychologists, comprises a total of 59 units from different areas and includes videos, information elements, quizzes and exercises. In addition to those affected, the platform also addresses therapists and companies, in both German and English.

Overview
Challenge
To make the start-up edupression and its offering known to the public without large customer or revenue figures, to work out the added value and, alongside the health downsides for those affected, to emphasise the economic dimension (depression as a widespread illness and a cost factor).
Solution
An explanatory launch press release that brings the health and the economic angle on the topic together, proactive media lobbying, and arranging a range of interviews.
Impact
20 positive media reports from a single PR action, including extensive coverage in daily newspapers and relevant online media. Interview and filming requests from radio and TV broadcasters.
