Overview
Challenge
Epilepsy affects millions of people – yet very little is known about new treatment approaches in the German-speaking region. The challenge: bringing a clinically tested MedTech product that requires explanation into public awareness – in an environment marked by scepticism towards new technologies, a lack of differentiation in the market and heavy regulation. On top of this, there is a high need for trustworthy yet accessible communication – for both specialist audiences and patients.
Solution
Our PR strategy relies on well-founded media relations, scientific clarity and strong personalities. We developed a multi-stage communications concept that combines technical innovation with social relevance. Key components: a precise positioning of the new CEO, long-term studies prepared for editorial use, personal patient stories and an accompanying debate on the future of the MedTech industry in Germany. In close coordination with the Precisis team, content was steered along clinical, political and emotional communication axes.
Impact
The PR campaign generated more than 80 high-quality clippings in trade, business and consumer media – including pharma relations, MTD, DeviceMed, Health & Care Management, Monitor Versorgungsforschung, Startuprad.io and FAZ. The long-term study on the efficacy of the EASEE® system, showing a seizure reduction of more than 65% in patients, was communicated in the context of health policy reforms, among other things. The total reach was more than 540 million potential contacts, with an estimated media value of around €300,000. Precisis was successfully positioned as an innovative, trustworthy and evidence-based brand in the MedTech market – with lasting impact.
