Overview

Fieldfisher is a European commercial law firm that has had an office in Vienna for around three years and positions itself as a hub for Central and Eastern Europe, with a focus on areas such as energy, technology, arbitration and private equity. Since January 2026, we have supported the firm with corporate and personal PR in Austria.

Challenge

The Austrian legal market is tight, and large international and domestic firms have communicated prominently for years. Fieldfisher needed to become better known in Austria, showcase the strength of a connected European network and establish its partners as sought-after experts, without coming across as loud or promotional.

Solution

Based on a strategy meeting and a PR approach, we developed a mix of corporate news and specialist expertise. Personnel news such as the appointment of Legal Director Christopher Toms and the firm’s annual results, with international revenue of almost 470 million euros, were placed in business and legal media.

In parallel, we positioned the partners through guest articles on topics such as digital regulation and AI, arbitration law, the EU Listing Act and the impact of geopolitical crises on businesses. We adapted the firm’s European BESS report on battery storage with a dedicated Austrian perspective from Country Managing Partner Thomas Ruhm, complemented by interviews.

Impact

By mid-August 2026, 17 editorial publications had been achieved, including a full-page guest article in Der Standard and pieces in Die Presse, Tiroler Tageszeitung, Börsen-Kurier, JUVE, TopLeader, Extrajournal, New Business, Report and energate messenger. Further guest articles and interviews have appeared since.
