Overview

Save Our Returns, based in Oldenburg, has developed a certification label for sustainable returns management in online retail, audited independently by DEKRA. From February to April 2026, in a short project, we made founder Ernst Lameyer known as an expert on returns and the EU ban on destroying unsold goods.

Challenge

Consumers rarely see what happens to the goods they send back. From July 2026 the EU bans the destruction of unsold textiles. This turns returns management into an obligation that retailers and logistics companies have to prove they meet. A young certification label had to become known quickly and be seen as a practical answer to this new obligation.

Solution

Our central hook was the EU destruction ban and the question of what online retailers need to do now. We offered interviews to business, retail and logistics media as well as consumer titles, and prepared Ernst Lameyer for every conversation with a briefing.

We also wrote guest articles for trade media such as Logistik heute and E-Commerce Magazin. This let us tell the story from the point of view of both businesses and consumers.

Impact

Around 40 articles appeared within three months. They include Augsburger Allgemeine (print and online), Südwest Presse and other regional papers in the same group, and an interview on RBB Inforadio. Further coverage appeared in Fashion United, Logistik heute, E-Commerce Magazin and Inside Digital.
