Voi is an eco-friendly mobility company from Sweden that brings e-scooter sharing systems to Europe in cooperation with cities. Since its founding in Stockholm in May 2018, Voi has quickly grown into Europe’s largest e-scooter sharing provider. Guided by the vision of a modern city where urban space belongs to everyone and is no longer dominated by traffic, Voi strives to get people moving, anywhere and at any time. As a full-service PR agency, we have supported Voi since its launch in the DACH region.

Overview
Challenge
E-scooters are changing cities. You see them on the way to work, while shopping or out for a walk, and so they are talked about a great deal, above all in the media. To bring the great potential of electric mobility closer to the public, Voi’s number one priority is therefore to actively shape this discourse itself. The key is to provide education, pre-empt speculation and make difficult subjects easy to understand. E-scooters and the sharing model are new in Germany, and many people and decision-makers are only gradually discovering them for themselves.
Solution
By actively taking up invitations to talk and engaging with current topics from the mobility industry, we position Voi as an open and transparent point of contact for the public and media representatives. Our communications strategy aims to help shape the public discourse on more eco-friendly mobility, move politicians to act and win cities over as partners. Of course, we do not forget to show users how much fun sustainable travel can be. To do this, we rely on a mix of national and regional media relations, witty PR stunts and events. With our communications around the launches in small and large cities across the German-speaking region, we were able to cultivate a positive image of Voi in the respective areas and win the cities over as partners.
